In Need of Some Whimsy

I feel that in light of all that is going on in the world right now, along with a certain collective sad 6th anniversary that is today, and another 10th one soon approaching, I should, (artistically) be doing something somber and meaningful, (which I have in the past) but right now, for the sake of my mental health, (which in all truth easily slips into sadness) I am in need of a little whimsy... and I feel guilty needing it, but need it I do, and I am heeding that need.

If you too, are in need of a smile, then I hope these help...

Little Green House Camper

Little White Cottage

Little White Trailer

So cool! I'd like to find one of those houses on a rock and just park myself for awhile. I think the view would be gorgeous!

Being happy (content) in spite of situations of sadness is sometimes the most deep and meaningful thing we can do.
I really like your houses.

And how strange, I just posted a post abbut making smiles on my blog before I popped over to yours. The world must be in need of more smiles...

I love these! They are too cute.

I agree...there is a time for somber reflection, but you have to do what you have to do to keep it from overshadowing everything else. If that means cute little houses, well then, let there be cute little houses!

Oh, yes, I definitely needed that today, especially now that Irene has left the East Coast and wreaked havoc everywhere she went. Thank you for the whimsy -- and the smiles it brought. These pieces are delicious!

Charming houses! I think you have the right attitude, too. Life has to go on, and "being happy" does not constitute an act of disrespect towards those who have lost so much! I just can't believe it's a zero sum game. So don't feel guilty about needing whimsy AND don't forget what is going on in the world... both are possible, I think!
