First, Second, Third...

First off, a heartfelt "Thank You!" to everyone. I deeply appreciate the wonderful comments and the positive feedback/support for my "Work Quilt", shown in the post below. You guys rock!

Second, the picture up top is of some beautiful Dupioni silks that I have been hoarding for who knows how long... I think it is time to use them!

Third, I am going on a Holiday vacation from blog posting... just for a bit... (will be back sometime in January). You see, Christmas is coming, the house is a mess, I have lots and lots of sewing I wish to do, and Eldest Daughter is coming home from her semester abroad in ONE WEEK!!!! WhooHoo! I can hardly wait, I miss her so!!! (Last week found her in Paris and this week finds her in Spain... oh, to be young and able to roam!) I am on pins and needles, just waiting to scoop her up and hug her tight, and to hear all about her adventures!

Happy Holidays to Everyone!!!

Oh, study abroad is so wonderful for kids. My daughter spent a year at the University of Nottingham. She got a chance to go to Amsterdam, Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland, Spain and Italy. Memories to last a lifetime! You're right about the young and unencumbered! They are so lucky. Enjoy your baby being back home and your housecleaning. 8-)

Have a super break and enjoy all the sewing! My house is a mess also & I keep hoping that I will just wake up one day & it will all be tidy again. Not likely to happen but I'm going to keep holding onto that hope ;) Enjoy the reunion with your daughter! As much fun as she no doubt had while away I'm sure she missed you heaps & is looking forward to hugs from her mum. Oh sorry. Mom! Happy holidays Vic xo

I cannot wait to see what you do with those silks. I too have some gorgeous pieces of silk, not sure if they're Dupioni, but still wonderful, and I've not had any inspired thoughts about what to do with them. So bring it on sister! Have a fabulous break with your daughter, and see you on the flip side.

Oh dear, I thought I left a comment on your last post but it looks like I didn't, and I so wanted to tell you how wonderful the Work Quilt is. It really is a fine example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. I'm so impressed.

And now onto silks! I'm excited to see what comes of this!

Enjoy your break. :)

I have never used silk for a quilt. Let me know what it's like. I'm kind of in a rut. I always use quilters cotton.
