1000 Hearts, 1000 Thank You's
YAY! I received my 1000th heart yesterday for my Etsy shop The Silly BooDilly! I am delighted and just want to shout out a great big THANK YOU! to everyone who has been so lovely and kind to take the time to look at my work, and leave me this positive feedback. I sincerely appreciate it! Being an artist can be such a solitary pursuit, the positive affirmation of hearts and blog comments and such, helps keep me feeling connected, and gives me good fuel to keep pursuing my dreams. Thanks!
And here is today's "BooDilly's Daily Dilly":
Vintage Children's Activity Book with 103 Illustrations!
The only reason that I am offering up this children's activity book for sale is because I have two copies! I adore all of the illustrations found in this book! The cardboard cover of this "The New Book of FUN for Children" is a bit faded, and rather blah, That's why I am not bothering to show it) but inside, this book is chock full of wonderful illustrations! 47 pages with a total of 103 black and white illustrations!!! (Click on the photo's to see the images larger, they are super cute!)
Among the illustrations that were signed, I counted 16 illustrations done by the very famous Cobb Shinn including some that would fall into the "Black Americana" collectable arena. Several more were done by the 1940's comic book illustrator Harvey Fuller and some more by the illustrator Nelson White, who also did some comic book illustrations, among other types.
Since this is the "BooDilly's Daily Dilly" featured item of the day, if you decide to purchase this Vintage Children's Activity Book from my BooDilly's Shop today, July 9th 2008, I will refund you via PayPal, 10% of your purchase price for this item, plus 10% of your shipping price for this item! All you have to do, is after your purchase, leave a message either in the comment section here or through Etsy, to let me know you saw it here! This offer is only good for today! Check back tomorrow for another "BooDilly's Daily Dilly" special!"

Congratulations on your well deserved 1000th heart! You are spot on when you say this art thing can be a 'solitary pursuit'. I take it like my breath; slow, steady and consistently without fail until I simply can't do it any longer.
1000 hearts? Whoa girl! That's quite an achievement. You are certainly LOVED! Congrats :)

Congratulations on your 1000th heart! You are well loved Victoria and I can see why! :) Love the book!
Congratulations!!! Love those childrens illustrations! How did you end with 2 copies?
Aren't they great! The person selling them happened to have two copies. I got them both thinking I would keep one, and cut the other one up for collage work, but I never had the heart!
CONGRATS!
OH, AND you've made Etsy's Front Page this evening too!
Hey, Yay!
Thanks for letting me know!
Help! I'm trying to find info on Harvey Fuller - the one who illustrated your book is the same one who co-illustrated a series of books called "Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories", which is a childhood treasure of mine. Fuller's illustrations are the highlight of the series. I can't find any info on him online (that's how I came across your post) - I wanted to know, are you sure that the comic book illustrator and the illustrator of this book are one and the same? The styles don't seem to "match." Thanks for any info on this!
