I know, I know... I've been neglecting my dear blog, (and most everyone else's, I'm afraid) but with good reason... I am working hard to commit more time to sewing!
My little shop is sorely in need of new items, and instead of listing an occassional one or two items here and there, (as I am prone to do) I thought this time I'd like to update with a whole batch of new work, (hopefully sometime in February). Until then, here's a little sneak peak at a few of the scrap inspired art quilts I've been creating.
In other news, the latest issue of the e-zine Fat Quarterly is now out.
This issue is all about solids, and I'm delighted to have been asked to contribute an article on how I got interested in using solid fabrics, and why I love them! You can go here to see a sneak peek of the issue and find out how to order your own copy. (It's easy... you can even order right from their etsy site!)
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

beautiful, vibrant colors!
So bright and refreshing! Such a nice thing to see mid winter!
I am just loving your newest creations!! The colors are fabulous!!
Lovely scrappy projects! I downloaded FQ yesterday, and really enjoyed your article. One of my 2011 goals is to use more solids, so this issue is right on target. Love your hand-quilting, too, BTW.
I'm always so grateful when I come across an apologetic blog post from an artist that I respect and admire (that's YOU) because it is salve for my own blogger's neglect.
I love your new scrappy work, and I can't wait to read your article!
I can't think of a better reason to neglect your blog...such a stunning quilt.
Thanks so much for taking part in FQ x
I love the colors and the flow of the stitching!
Oh my! The sneak peek has got me on edge! I can't wait to see what you have been up to!
I love the bright colors! Did you use a 12 wt thread to quilt it? I love how the thread stands out.
Lovely work and a good idea to list in batches. I just get tired of the listing and photography before I finish. At least you can 'copy' items now.
Oh I know so little time so many things to divert our attention.......lovely pieces, can't wait to see them all :0)
Happy Sewing
Well what you have 'sneak peaked' us looks amazing. I can't wait to see the rest. I just adore your use of color and outside-the-box patterns.
I was happy to see us both in there!
I am loving these wavy stitched hot colors Victoria, wow, great fun. Glad you have been stitching away, it's always great to see what comes from your creativity. xox Corrine
Looks like fun, vibrant scrap quilts! I enjoyed reading your article.
I'm glad you're still posting. I'm a new follower. Such beautiful colors!
I think sewing is the only excuse you can have for not blogging. Those quilts are divine! ♥
I am totally in love with your new works - how do you keep coming up with such beautiful stuff!!!
gorgeous work in that top picture!! I hope you and yours are all well x
Victoria,
Take all the breaks you want. You come out with such beautiful creations after all of them.. Gorgeous quilting and the colors are amazing!
Wonderful use of color..great job.
As I mentioned on Flikr, love these! Congrats on being in the magazine too! All of your work is SO worth waiting for, good things take time.
Wow, I'm loving your new batch of quilts! Thanks for the sneak preview.
It's easy to see why your projects are snatched up so quickly. I love the curvy quilting and the vibrant blue.
I agree, there is no reason to be blogging when you can be making those beautiful pieces!
LOVE these new quilts! The colors really speak to me, and your work is exquisite, as always. Thanks for sharing such joyous creations in the middle of this lousy winter -- they inspire and bring smiles!

Ooh! Love these! Is that sulky blendable thread I spy? one of my faves!...The curvy quilting looks great (although the sraight lines are awesome too!)
I just went and bought that mag - it looks like a grand one, and if you're in it, well they have awesome taste! ;-)
The colors are electric! Love it!
Wow! These are looking great! You've been neglecting your blog for good reason! I've had to neglect blogging/blog visiting lately also, so I perfectly understand the need to just step away from it sometimes.
Hey thanks so much Vic for the hugs! I didn't mention the passing of Sophie on my blog because I just didn't know how to at the time. And then as time passed and I finally felt together enough to mention it, it seemed as though too much time had passed so I never posted about it. I'm imagining Soph somewhere special right now and she's hooked up with Mo and they're getting up to all sorts of fun mischief together :) xo
incredible colours, Vic! Hope to see your fabulous quilts up close in person one day so please come visit & bring your work too! Warm wishes from Dubai !
I love your quilting, especially that wavey line. It looks son nice and modern.
