On a more serious note... In regards to yesterday's post, many heart felt good wishes to all of you for your kind words. Please know that I am not always, (although I wish I were) such a "look at the glass half full" kind of gal. In fact I am often the complete opposite and know very well how to throw a full blown pity party for myself.
But sometimes, when everything is raining down on you at once you just have to give in, let go, and count your blessings, for which I have many. Unfortunately sometimes it takes the act of dying to fully embrace the gift of living.

ReplyDeleteI just read your previous post and it was lovely. Sometimes it is hard to surrender and let it flow. Everything does seem to work out they way it is meant to. The rain was pretty crazy wasn't it? It came down our north wall in the kitchen, right behind the cabinets.
Thinking of you and your family during this time.

I need to make fabric stuff with my hands as an antithesis to my computerised work, that I also used to do by hand and dearly miss.
That is fabulous!! So good that they are featuring you!! Your work is wonderful and should be featured. I totally hear you about giving in. Hope there are brighter days ahead.
ReplyDeleteNot a surprise you are being featured again, Vic. You know how I am about dogs but that last pic cracks me up! Did Ellie Mae get that rain wear on so that she can go outside to jump in puddles? She has a "Please stop sewing so much & take me out now" look on her face - pretty adorable !

Wow Your space spores quilt is spectacular! I am visiting via another site who referred you. I am new to blogging and just getting back into sewing. Thanks for the link to your quilt pattern! I hope your family is healing.. I have learned through losing both of my parents in a very short time that death is part of life's journey and it indeed has a purpose all of it's own. Thanks for being so open and sharing that moment.

These spore panels were the first thing that attracted me to your work- and I've been skating along the path you lead us down ever since. Congrats on the feature! I especially liked your first answer on hand stitching. I will have to consider this more next time I take needle to fabric.

ReplyDeleteTouching comments about your mother in law. My FIL underwent heart surgery this week. He is feeling 1000% better, and I have NEVER seen him so giddy and delighted and happy.. I think his brush with death has given him a new zest for life. Your last comment in today's post is exactly right. AS always, I love love love your quilts. In my next life I want to be as good an artist as you.
