Absolutely wonderful, Victoria -- and I FINALLY got to purchase one (actually, TWO) of your lovely pieces before they were completely sold out, so I am THRILLED! Can't wait to receive these fabulous hearts -- and to be a proud owner of a genuine Victoria G. creation.

These are adorable, Victoria! The weaving reminds me of the traditional Norwegian åkle which was used for bedding and decoration.
ReplyDeleteSo darling and understated. I love the warm, down home feeling these have.

In other words;
Just Perfect!
=-)
wow! Just love these. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Love the idea of the seam down the back center. I need to make a pin cushion for an exchange so I will incorporate the middle back seam and try it out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThose are so darn cute! You know, they remind me of Swedish weaving embroidery a bit.
ReplyDeleteLove that seam up the backside. :)
Those are just fantastic! I love the woven pattern and the texture.
ReplyDeleteOh my wasn't it hard to cut the woven fabric? These are just lovely, love the vertical one with the X's and O's.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sewing
Thanks to each of you!
ReplyDeleteDiane, you are so sweet!
Nina and Jane, yes, I can see why it reminds you of those things, as Rosepath weaving, (the red woven bands in the hearts) has deep scandinavian roots. The variations are seemingly endless making it truly fun to work with!
Kim, as long as you first stabilize where you want to cut with machine stitching, it's not much different then cutting into any other fabric. To make these, I made a heart template cut from cardstock and centered it on top of the woven fabric. Then I stitched around it a few times, locking all those woven ends in place, Then I cut the heart shape out with no fear of unraveling. :)
These are lovely, Vic! So happy you're weaving again :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE these!!!
