Although these two mini scrap quilts, (which I just listed in my shop today) aren't proof positive,
as they are part of the small batch of quilts I stitched up several weeks ago, right before my creative dry spell hit, (so technically they don't count)...
I think I'm beginning to slowly move out of my creative funk and move on to brighter days.
Hoping to have some brand new work to share sometime next week. (That is if the house doesn't blow away... the wind here is blowing so hard I'm starting to feel like Dorothy in Kansas, and I swear I just saw a cow fly by.)

ReplyDeleteI do think that winter has something to do with creative funks. Even though I am spending more time in my studio I am not producing anything. I even resorted to ironing my husbands dress shirts the other day to avoid the sewing machine. :-) Have a great weekend.

I just did a class with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably last week. I too was feeling rather uninspired prior to going. Although I learned only a little, being surrounded by other makers, sharing my same passion texiles did the trick! Maybe you need to get out of that wind and find some sun and some other sewers. Your work still look gorgeous to me.

ReplyDeleteCan you tell me what color of the Sulky blendables that you used on this quilts? I am trying to find the 12 wt and am having trouble trying to figure out which one this is.
DeleteOh my, I use all different colors and don't remember the specifics to the ones in this old post as they were made 10 years ago now! The Sulky Blendables, (at least to my knowledge) only come in two sizes, 12 wt and 30 wt. (Again, I use the 12 wt) and they come in a wide selection of colors. Most quilt shops and many craft stores, (such as JoAnne Fabrics if you are in the US) generally carry a selection of them. Hope that helps and best wishes.
