Both are listed in my shop...

P.S. The shore was beautiful, and was just what the doctor ordered!

ReplyDeleteSo. Awesome.
Ah, more shot cotton love! I like how the edges are wobbly. That takes guts!

Care to say where you were? It's lovely and looks worthy of adding to a "list of places to stay."
Beautiful! I can see why the remnants are so appealing.
ReplyDeleteNice bit of R & R. Your new remnants must have sold the minute you listed them. Love them.
ReplyDeleteI must say that I am loving your total bliss! That view is to die for, just gorgeous. And your remnants are beautiful too! Love them!
ReplyDeleteYou look radiant! And it shines through your latest work. What an inspiring place to stay. :)

Those views are stunning!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos - glad you enjoyed yourself. The remnants are gorgeous, as always. Love the colours!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeletebeautiful pieces - and they are already sold! that was fast! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your stuff!!! Where did you come up with the idea for these pieces? I am retiring in December and have decided that for the first couple of years I will only make things using my stash, and had envisioned scrappy pieced small items similar to yours. But, now I have to come up with another plan lest I be accused of copying, lol. But I do love your work.
ReplyDeleteA day late again - the pieces are already sold! Good for you! They are fantastic as usual! The shore looks wonderful! I am glad to hear you had a relaxing time.
ReplyDeletesoul satisfying to SEE, too, even online, on screen, without the benefits of touch... such nice work.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, as always!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got in a little getaway. Vacations are so good for the soul.
How breezy and refreshed you look! I love the shapes of these pieces- so REAL.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteMinka's Studio, Thanks for the link! I've seen this before and think it's wonderful! Also, I stayed at Harbourtowne In St. Michaels, Maryland.
Wilma, the remnant pieces were inspired by some pictures of heavily patched Japanese Boro: see here and the old falling down and oddly patched barn structures surrounding where I live. The stitches I use, (like dashes and x's) are just part of the hand stitch vocabulary that I have used over the years.
Hmm... I don't think that link above is working. You can see the pictures of boro that inspired the Remnant pieces here:

beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteVictoria do you have a local source for your shot cotton or are you buying it online? You've inspired me to try using some but I can't find any!
ReplyDeleteLove your latest creations but as usual I'm too late to get one! The colors are just divine.
Happy sewing
Kim, It's getting hard for me to find as well. I use to get it locally, but the quilt shop has changed owners and despite repeated promises to restock, it appears that it is low on their priority list. Lately I have been purchasing on line thru Pink Chalk Studio.
ReplyDeleteI love these remnant pieces! I'm working on a little indigo boro-inspired sampler and can't wait to start working with some colorful fabric and threads! Glad you had a nice vacation! What a beautiful sunset!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces! I love the colors and the stitching!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful, everything matches, the color, the pieces, the stitches, it is more than eye candy! I think my doctor would recommend me the same place where you were, so peaceful!
ReplyDeletewow what views! That looks like an amazining place, I'm glad you had a good time
ReplyDelete: )

ReplyDeletethat view is glorious!! and your work is lovely as ever, what I wouldn't give to run my hands over them!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in your remnants.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful views you had from your room. I love east coast talk. No one I know on the west coast refers to the beach as shore....
Same with purse/pocketbook.
I love regional dialect.
These are gorgeous, such fabulous colour combinations.
ReplyDeleteBliss indeed! What super views! I'm glad you had a wonderful time away. It's important to take time off and escape every now and again to recharge the batteries!
ReplyDeleteI love your new pieces too!
