Everyday Pleasures #9

As I go about my everyday business, I cannot help but to stop, stand still and gaze in awe at my surroundings...
for often it seems, as if long ago, time also stopped and stood still.

A farmer and his team of mules, stopping for a rest as they plow the field.

  2. I want your surroundings! Swap? Just for a little while? I live on a busy road...constant traffic & noise. No pretty barns but plenty of ugly highrise apartments to look at. A skyline filled with huge cranes constructing even more ugly highrise apartments. Have I sold you yet? Just say the word ;D

  4. Beautiful pictures, Victoria. Sort of reminds me of Muddy's place in the late 70's. Especially the old red barn with the split rail fence. :)

  8. Awwwh, we are so blessed to have such serene Amish scenery as a backdrop in our Lancaster life!

I drool out the window of our car when we drive to pick Zoey up in Leola. The friendly people on skooters and line dried underwear. It's the best.

  12. Holy Moly! A horse-drawn plow? Do they make those anymore?

  13. Yes, Amish.
This beautiful site of horse and mule pulled plows is extremely common in this area, and I never tire of seeing it.

  14. Are you in Lancaster County. I've always loved it there. Great photographs. It's true that we don't always appreciate the surrounding we see every day. I live in Connecticut and it is beautiful here too. This is my first visit - I'll be back.
