Random Stitching

I know I have been pretty quiet here...

been feeling that way all around.

I think winter does that to me.

I have also been a bit preoccupied with planning for some upcoming travel, (fun!)

as well as for some upcoming surgery, (not fun.)

To keep my sense of calm,

(Often easier said then done in regards to myself)

I have just been allowing myself the joy of random stitching.

I am usually so focused on making things, (and very results oriented) that I am finding this to be a very soothing place... the act of simply stitching for the sake of wanting to stitch.

Hope each one of you is finding happiness in whatever you are doing! xo

Mmmmm... that top one is so delicious - love that palette and the stitching is so soothing.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery - I have on myself at the beginning of February so am trying to keep calm and think good thoughts all the time, so I'll send some your way too. :)

The stitching is textural and lovely! Best of luck with surgery. I had emergency surgery in November and didn't have time to even think about preparing for it. I am fine now and I wish you a speedy recovery too!

Posting photos of your "soothers" is good enough for me! Harmon and Alice remind me that you're out there somewhere.

I've been finding that project goals have focused me away from panic as I've been recovering from a recent surgery. It's good to have such calming hobbies! Everything you make is beautiful. Best luck with everything.

I can think of nothing more soothing than stitchwork. And your "random stitching" takes my breath away. That ombre piece is gasp-worthy. I am sending well wishes for your upcoming surgery. Be well, My Dear.

Your stitches are beautiful, satisfying to look at. You are making something beautiful even in less-than-joyful times - good for you. It's inspiring.

good luck with the surgery! Your quilt has such a feel of winter about it... the quiet, as you say, and the subdued neutral tones. I LOVE that you are letting yourself free-form crochet! In my world, it is PRECISION I need to try now and then!

I'm really into those neutrals too at the moment. Are those very close lines of stitching machined?
All the best xxxx

Many thanks to each of you!

Clare, yes they are machine quilted!
