The Best of Both Worlds

Just a quick post to show some new pieces.

I have been flipping back and forth between stitching small works, (they all measure between 3 and 4 inches!) on both fabric and paper...

Stitching with the fabric feels old and familiar, a language I am pretty comfortable with...

Where as with the paper, making it by hand first, and then stitching into it...

feels new and exciting, (and is for now is satisfying my somewhat constant curiosity itch)!

I have listed the works shown here in my shop, and will be listing some more soon.

Hope you all have had lovely weekend and wishing you each a wonderful week! xo

Thanks for sharing so much of you/your process with us all.
I would like to acquire the last piece in this post - don't see it in the shop...does that mean it has already been purchased?
Thanks in advance.

Beautiful use of color -- one can feel your comfortableness with both mediums. Lovely expressions of YOU.

I love the juxtaposition of the paper and fabric in your post today. It's all about the texture and the lines, really, isn't it. The process is the same. I am so drawn to the elegance of your work!

I love your little works and I especially love your exploration of techniques, fiber types, and colors/textures. Your little farmhouse window quilts are super sweet!

I love your work and have been following you since I saw you on Pokie Bolton's PBS quilting show. What type of thread is that you use to quilt with? It looks so fabulous, adding a lot of dimension to your pieces.

Thanks to each of you. :-)

craktpot, for most all of my hand quilting, as well as the hand stitched paper pieces shown here, I use Sulky Premium Cotton Threads. For machine stitching I use various types of threads, but the ones shown in this post were done with YLI cotton threads.

The red, blue, and green paper piece reminds me a bit of Bridget Riley's work.

It has been a while since I checked in, Victoria. These are SO cool. I am loving the feel of these new works. They are both simple and complex at the same time and I love that.
